Traveling in a passenger sled pulled by a snowmobile, you can sit back, stay warm and enjoy the journey while one of our experienced guides leads the way. The route takes us through snowcovered forests, across frozen lakes and along quiet winter trails deep in the Arctic nature surrounding Abisko. As we travel through the landscape, we keep an eye out for local wildlife such as moose, reindeer, Arctic hares, ptarmigans, and animal tracks in the snow. Every tour is different and while wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, the journey itself offers a unique glimpse into the untouched nature of Swedish Lapland.

Along the way, we stop at scenic locations to take photos, explore the surroundings and learn more about Arctic wildlife and life in the north. During one of the stops, we gather around a campfire to enjoy a warm drink and light snack while the guide shares stories about the area, the animals and the changing Arctic seasons.

This tour is perfect for families, photographers and anyone looking for a peaceful and easy way to experience the beauty of Swedish Lapland in winter. No driving licence is needed, making it a fun and accessible adventure for guests of all ages.

Starting time for the tour is 13:30 and we are back at our meeting point at 16:00. Please be at our starting point 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time. If you wish to join this trip on another date than those scheduled, please send an email with your request to activities@abisko.me.

Although snow conditions in December usually provide enough support for snowmobiles, exceptions may occur. In the unlikely event of conditions not allowing us to arrange this trip you will have the choice to either join it on another date or to receive a full refund of your payment. We do not take responsibility for any travel expenses to or from Abisko.

Getting here
The trip starts at the small red-and-white building located at Karvens väg 18 in Abisko Östra. You will see an Activities In Abisko sign just outside of the building. It is a 10 minute walk from Abisko.net and the Abisko Mountain Lodge and about a five-minute walk from the Abisko Guesthouse.

• Guests staying at STF Abisko Tourist Station will be picked up for no extra charge, 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time.

• Guests staying at Abisko Mountain Lodge and Abisko.net Hostel and Huskies can choose to be picked up from the Abisko Mountain Lodge parking lot, 10 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
